Late Friday afternoon our dog, Tipper, of almost 12 years died. He was a great dog- very calm and loving. He especially loved Dan and Cooper. He started getting bad on Monday- he was not really eating and not moving much. Cooper was very concerned for him. He spent a lot of time outside with Tipper this week- putting towels on him, talking to him, and hugging on him. He had great hope for Tipper. He told me on Tuesday that he was getting better. I knew he was not going to get better and I tried to explain it to Cooper. He cried when I told him that he was probably going to die. I explained that he would be all better in heaven and that he would be with Pepper. He would say "I dont want Tipper to leave me." It just broke my heart. It was especially hard when Cooper saw Tipper on Friday. Since Tipper has been gone, when Cooper wakes up he goes right to the back door to see if Tipper is there. He has told me that he wants a new dog and he wants to name him "Scooby Doo".
This is how I found Cooper a few days before Tipper died.....

Here he is yelling at Colby saying, "No Colby you cant go out there, you are sick and you cant get Tipper sicker."

We will miss Tipper!

Poor Cooper. Man it's hard when a family pet of that long dies! Sorry about your loss. At least he wants another dog, sometimes kids (and adults) take a long time to get over it and don't want anything to comfort them like a NEW pet. I'd move on that... that's just me, but I'd do it.
What a sweet boy he is, that picture broke my heart.
That is so sad, it made me cry!
All of us cried here...can't imagine how hard it must be for you guys! Hang in there.

Oh poor Cooper! That is so hard for a family to lose a family pet. I remember when my parents told us that one of our great dogs had passed away and I didn't believe them. I ran to the back door and yelled for him. He obviosly never came. I was so sad but we later had and have now some great dogs :) Cooper I'm sorry your sad...he is being well taken care of in heaven. That picture of Cooper laying on Tipper made me cry. :(
I'm so emotion when to comes to dog stories. That one made me cry. Poor Cooper. It's so hard on little ones to fully understand. I hope Cooper feels better soon. So are you going to get a new dog?
This one broke my heart! Poor little Coop. I can't wait to see you guys!
Those pictures of Cooper and Tipper about killed me. He is so sweet. Maybe when I have my dog rescue ranch, he'll want to work with me???
